Now that the festivities of the Inauguration have come to pass, it’s time to get to work. Today I want to bring up an issue that’s close to home on Whitehouse.gov that was addressed on Politico.com and HotAir.com.
Apparently, setting aside childish things does not apply to the current Administration. The Obama administration puts complete blame of the Bush administration over Hurricane Katrina. Here’s the little ditty from Whitehouse.gov:
President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.
President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration’s “unconscionable ineptitude” in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims. Obama visited thousands of Hurricane survivors in the Houston Convention Center and later took three more trips to the region. He worked with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce legislation to address the immediate income, employment, business, and housing needs of Gulf Coast communities.
President Barack Obama will partner with the people of the Gulf Coast to rebuild now, stronger than ever.
Speaking of “Unconscionable Ineptitude”, why is C. Ray Nagin still in office? How come Kathleen “Babbalin” Blanco not being held accountable. Those two deserve a lot of credit given the failures of what happened after Katrina hit. I hope you do realize that a lot of reports were sensationalized, even in Baton Rouge of various crimes of various magnitudes. Even former NOPD chief Eddie Compass did the same thing to milk more sympathy out of the drive-by media. Yet the liberals continue to hang on to the “Heckuva Job Brownie” soundbyte three and a half years after the fact.
The media won’t tell you that Blanco did not cooperate with federal officials which slowed the response. Yet her fat ass is still parading around Louisiana blaming Bush trying to find some redemption to get back into politics. If Blanco ever becomes Governor again, I’m either moving to Texas or Mississippi.
Our gulf coast neighbors haven’t been bitching or whining about FEMA or the former President. Look at Biloxi today and try to tell me they’re still struggling. Look at Jefferson or St Tammany Parish and tell me people are still struggling.
St Bernard Parish was hit harder than New Orleans, with the entire area being underwater. They were hit extremely hard and you don’t hear them whining or bitching about the government. In fact, the parish went pretty decisively for McCain.
The problem is the welfare class, “world owes me a living”, attitude of a majority of residents in New Orleans. They even re-elected Nagin and I’m not confident that his successor will be any better. The city has had problems long before the storm and its up to the city to solve those problems to truly recover.
That doesn’t stop the left and apparently the Obama administration. It looks like they will protect incompetent Democrats on a local level regardless on how dumb they really are, like Blanco. Bobby Jindal better hope that we don’t see another major storm soon because this administration will crucify him regardless of how good a job Jindal will do.
